No. 29 Men's Tennis Concludes Play at Blue Gray Classic
February 26, 2022 | Men's Tennis
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The No. 29 Princeton University men's tennis team wrapped up play at the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic Saturday night, first defeating Virginia Commonwealth University 4-1, before falling 4-1 to Middle Tennessee State University.
"MTSU played a great match," said head coach Billy Pate. "It was a battle, as was our win earlier in the day against a very strong VCU team. Though we are disappointed not to win the title this was a good event for us. The Blue Gray is a special event and always a gray experience for our team. We were able to transition again to outdoors tennis and continue to improve and grown as a team. Some guys need to get completely healthy, but we're in a good place with our group and look forward to next weekend's home contest before our spring break trip."
In addition, Will Peters won the Sportsmanship Award for the tournament.

In singles, No. 107 Ryan Seggerman took down Charles Bertimon at No. 1, 4-6, 6-0, 7-5, and Justin Barki earned a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win over Maxence Bertimon at No. 2. At the No. 3 position, Karl Poling defeated Inigo Torre Martin, 6-4, 7-5.
