Men's Hockey Upended By Union

PRINCETON – Princeton peppered Union with 42 shots, but could only solve Connor Murphy three times in a 7-3 loss to the Dutchmen at Hobey Baker Rink.
The Tigers never led in the game, but were able to work things even once and climb within one goal twice before the Dutchmen scored the game's final three goals to pull away.
Adam Robbins, Spencer Kersten and Luke Keenan had Princeton's goals. Kersten now has nine points over his last eight games, while Robbins has four goals in his last six games.
Ian Murphy tallied a pair of assists, giving him nine helpers this season and seven points over his last six games.
The teams took a combined 17 penalties in the game, 11 called on Union and six on the Tigers. Princeton was 1-for-8 on the power play and killed all three power plays for Union.
Union scored three times in the first period to take a 3-1 lead after twenty minutes.
Dylan Anhorn opened the scoring 8:15 into the game, stepping by a sliding Princeton defender and firing top corner.
Adam Robbins got the Tigers on the board with 8:39 left in the first period, wristing home a power-play goal with assists to Corey Andonovski and Noah de la Durantaye.
With 3:32 left in the first, Tyler Watkins snuck in on a break and slid a goal five-hole of assists from Seger and Michael Hodge.
Spencer Kersten scored for the Tigers 0:56 into the second period, taking an Ian Murphy pass and patiently deking out the Union goalie before sliding home his fifth goal in his last eight games.
The Tigers would again claw within a goal just moments after a power play had ended. Luke Keenan worked a give-and-go with Ian Murphy who drew defenders wide before sending a shot off the goalie's pads to a driving Keenan who tapped home his second goal of the season.
Princeton completes a five-game homestand on February 8, hosting Yale at 7 p.m.
