No. 30 Men’s Tennis Blanks Michigan State 4-0
March 11, 2022 | Men's Tennis
TEMPE, Ariz. – The Princeton University men's tennis team held Michigan State scoreless in a 4-0 victory on day one of the ASU Invite.
"We had a good start in doubles today as well as most spots in singles. For the most part we made adjustments and played well against a good Michigan State squad. We'll look to clean a few areas up and go at it again tomorrow versus the winner of Tulane and Wichita State."
The Tigers grabbed the doubles point, the tandem of Justin Barki and Damian Rodriguez dropping Carson Gates and Max Sheldon 6-3 in the No. 2 spot, while Filippos Astreinidis and Karl Poling cruised to a 6-1 victory over Josh Mukherjee and Graydon Lair in the No. 3 spot.
In singles, Ryan Seggerman didn't drop a game in his two-set victory over Jack Winkler in the No. 1 spot. Playing in the No. 2 spot, Justin Barki dispatched Graydon Lair 6-4, 6-2 and Damian Rodriguez got by Luke Bayless 7-6, 6-2 in the No. 5 spot.
