No. 30 Men’s Tennis Edges Wichita State 4-3
March 12, 2022 | Men's Tennis
TEMPE, Ariz. – The Princeton University men's tennis team secured a 4-3 victory over Wichita State, Saturday afternoon at the ASU Invite.
"We started uncharacteristically flat in the early stages of the match today," said Head Coach Billy Pate. "Wichita State is battle-tested and was ready to take it to us. Consequently, we didn't have a lot of margin for error down the stretch and Justin and Bill had to step up after we found ourselves needing both of their matches. We'll need to be our best tomorrow in the final against the winner of ASU and Texas Tech."
In doubles, the duo of Justin Barki and Damian Rodriguez defeated Nicolas Acevedo and Ray Lo 6-2 while playing in the No. 2 spot.
In singles, Ryan Seggerman dispatched Kristof Minarik 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 1 spot, while Karl Poling cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Orel Ovil in the No. 3 spot. Playing in the No. 2 spot, Justin Barki kocked off Luka Mrsic in three sets and Bill Duo earned a 7-6 (7-2), 7-5 victory over Jackie Lin in the No. 6 spot.
