Daria Frayman, From Unranked to No. 1 in the Nation

PRINCETON, N.J. - Only one Ivy League women's tennis player has ever earned the nation's No. 1 ranking, and that's Daria Frayman of the Princeton University women's tennis team. Her unprecedented accomplishment has come after beginning the season unranked, climbing all the way to the top of the ITA rankings.
"We are incredibly proud of Dasha reaching number 1 in the ITA rankings. She has been preparing incredibly hard for this season over the past several years and we are thrilled to see it pay off for her and the team. She proves it is possible to attend an elite school academically and still reach the top of college tennis. More importantly, Dasha is a great teammate and we are so proud to call her a Princeton Tiger"
At the end of her freshman year, she was honored as the ITA Northeast Region Rookie of the Year, and rose up to No. 103 in the ITA singles rankings, along with No. 19 in the doubles rankings alongside Grace Joyce.
Frayman has picked up where she left off as a freshman, and then some. She has defeated fifteen ranked opponents so far this season, including five ranked inside the top-15. She finished as the Runner-Up at the ITA Fall National Championships, and was the ITA Northeast Super Regional Champion in both singles and doubles, where she again teamed with Joyce.

With much of the season still to play, and another season left at Princeton, the sky is the limit for what accomplishments lay ahead for Frayman. What's for certain, is that she will forever be able to lay claim to have gone from being unranked to No. 1 in the same season.
