Men's Golf Team Sweeps Princeton Invitational Titles
April 10, 2022 | Men's Golf
In what was the program's first Princeton Invitational team title in 18 years, the Princeton men's golf team took not just the top spot, but the top two, getting medalist honors for the first time in 15 years as well.
At Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, Princeton's Orange lineup won the team title at -7 over the Princeton Black lineup at -6, with Seton Hall third at even par. Princeton Black entered the day leading Princeton Orange by a stroke, but Princeton Orange outdid Princeton Black by two in Sunday's final round to overtake their fellow Tigers and keep the Princeton Invitational team title at home for the first time since 2004.
Rookie William Huang, part of the Princeton Orange lineup, became Princeton's first medalist at the Princeton Invitational since John Sawin '07 in 2007. Carding a final-round 68, Huang followed up his 67 and 68 in Saturday's two rounds to finish at -10, six strokes ahead of Temple's Conor McGrath. Huang highlighted his final day with an eagle on the par-five fourth hole, his first eagle of the tournament.
Complete results are available here. The Princeton Invitational was the team's final tournament before heading to Century Country Club in Harrison, N.Y. for the Ivy League Championship April 22-24.
