Ivy Champion Women's Golf Team Ticketed for NCAA Regional at Stanford
April 27, 2022 | Women's Golf
For the third time in its last four chances, and for the sixth time in program history, the Princeton women's golf team is headed to the NCAA regionals, learning on Wednesday that Stanford will be this year's regional destination.
Stanford, USC, LSU, Texas Tech, Kentucky, Iowa State, Northwestern, Purdue, UNLV, Cal Poly and Sacred Heart will join Princeton at the regional, which will be held May 9-11 at the Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, Calif.
The top four teams and top two players not on those four teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, held May 20-25 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Princeton earned an automatic bid to the NCAA regionals with its Ivy League Championship win last weekend. Victoria Liu won medalist honors and earned first-team All-Ivy League with that finish while Yu Kyung Kim and Kyung Eun Lee earned second-team All-Ivy with their top-10 finishes.
Princeton's NCAA regional appearance will be its first since 2018 and third in its last four chances, along with 2017. The 2020 championships were lost to the pandemic, and the Ivy League did not compete in 2021.
