No. 1 Women's Lightweight Crew Has Two Boats Advance To Dad Vail Grand Finals

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 1 Princeton women's lightweight crew had two boats move on to Grand Finals at the Dad Vail Regatta.

The Tigers' 2X posted the top times in its heat (7:53.13) and semifinal (7:32.03) and will race in the Grand Final at 1:20 p.m. tomorrow.

Princeton's V8 easily secured the best time in its heat (6:20.99) to move to the Grand Final at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. It will race against the open crews of Boston U, Georgetown, and Grand Valley for the Bergman Trophy.

The lightweight team had two 4+ boats advanced to the semifinals, securing a second-place finish (7:47.83) and first place tally (7:45.36) in their heats. They followed those performances (7:48.03, 7:44.24) to go to the Petite Final at 8:54 a.m. on Saturday.

Head coach Paul Rassam's 4+ A boat snagged second place (7:18.82) in its heat before a time of 7:18.02 in its semifinal put it in the Petite Final at 9:54 a.m.

Princeton secured two medals in last year's Dad Vail Regatta. Following tomorrow's action, the Tigers will race in the IRA Championships June 1-3.
