Princeton Wrestling Program Goes Nationwide as 2022-23 Schedule is Announced
July 11, 2022 | Wrestling
2022-23 Schedule
A schedule with coast-to-coast opponents and six fellow teams that finished in the Top-25 at the 2022 NCAA Championships will greet Princeton Wrestling this winter.
The Tigers produced a pair of national finalists and tied for 16th at the NCAAs in 2022, and will test their mettle in dual meets against No. 4 Arizona State, No. 7 Cornell, No. 12 Oregon State, No. 14 Wisconsin, No. 20 Rutgers and No. 25 Lehigh.
The 2022-23 schedule is headlined by a big-time upgrade for the program as all five home dual matches will be held in Jadwin Gym, starting with a huge New Jersey clash against Rutgers on December 11. More Jersey bragging rights will be on the line on January 21 when Rider comes to Jadwin for a 6 p.m. Saturday night dual. Home Ivy competition brings Harvard (January 27) and Brown (January 28) to Jadwin, with the home finale a Saturday-night date with Lehigh on Feb. 11.
Away from home, the Tigers will dial up a western swing to face a pair of Pac-12 programs in Oregon State (Jan. 13 in Austin, Texas at a Flowrestling event) and Arizona State (Jan. 15), also competing at the Garden State Grapple at the Prudential Center in Newark against Wisconsin and Michigan State. A true road Big Ten dual opens the slate on Nov. 18 as the Tigers head to Bloomington to take on Indiana -- a trip back to their old stomping grounds for Hoosier grads and current coaches Joe Dubuque and Nate Jackson.
Princeton returns all six qualifiers from the 2022 NCAA Championships, led by returning national finalists Patrick Glory and Quincy Monday -- each a multi-time All-American entering their senior season.
The Tigers will look to build on a memorable 2022 NCAA which saw them score the most points at a single national tournament in program history and come within two spots of matching the program's best finish since placing fifth in 1951.
