Chang, Starks Earn All-ECAC Honors

Adrienne Chang and Serena Starks were recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) as the organization announced its softball annual honorees.
Chang and Starks helped lead the Tigers to the Ivy League title and to winning the Ivy League Playoff Series to secure the league's automatic NCAA bid. Both were first-team All-Ivy honorees this season. Chang was one of 13 players on the All-ECAC team while Starks was one of eight additional players who earned honorable mention. The ECAC counts a Division I roster of more than 80 schools between New England and Virginia from several conferences, including all eight Ivy League schools.
Chang, who primarily split time between the outfield and designated player this season, was second on the team with a .351 batting average and tops with a .934 OPS, led the team with 12 walks. Chang's batting average was fourth in the Ivy League while her slugging percentage (.523, ninth), on-base percentage (.411, eighth), OPS (.934, ninth), hits (39, eighth) and doubles (eight, t-sixth) were all top-10 in the league.Â
Starks, who played all 46 games in the outfield, had a team-high .355 batting average on the season, leading the Ivy with 54 hits. Starks had hits in 34 games, including all three games of the Ivy League Playoff Series and both NCAA tournament games, going 6 for 9 in the Ivy Playoff Series and closing it with a 3-for-3 third game to clinch the NCAA bid. Starks' .355 batting average was third in the Ivy League while her 27 runs scored (third), 27 RBI (t-second), and nine doubles (fifth) were all top-five in the Ivy.
