Women's Basketball Drops Brown, 67-54

PRINCETON – The Women's Basketball Team had 12 different players score as it defeated the Brown Bears, 67-54, at Jadwin Gym on Saturday afternoon.
Grace Stone led the Tigers with 13 points, adding four rebounds. Chet Nweke led the squad with a career-high 11 rebounds along with six points in the win.
Even at eight-all, the Tigers ran off six straight before taking a 14-10 lead into the second quarter. Brown stayed within striking distance, trailing 19-16, but Princeton rattled off 10 of 11 to push the lead to 12, 29-17, with two minutes left in the first half.
This time, it was the Bears to go on a sprint with eight consecutive points getting the Ivy contest within four, 29-25, at the break. Their run continued with five straight to take a 30-29 advantage in the second half. The two squads went back and forth with six lead changes over the next five minutes of action.
Stone went on her own 7-0 run to put the Tigers back ahead, 44-37. Head coach Carla Berube's squad ended the third stanza on a 15-3 jump, holding a 52-40 lead. The Tigers improve their advantage to 21 in the fourth quarter before cruising to the victory.
Princeton will welcome Penn to Jadwin on Monday. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. The Quakers are at the top of the Ivy League standings at 4-0.
