Gorman, Pearson and Walton Up For Hobey Baker Award Fan Vote

A trio of Princeton Hockey players are along the 80+ nominees from NCAA Division I ice hockey included in the fan vote as nominees for the 2023 Hobey Baker Award.
Seniors Liam Gorman and Pito Walton are joined by sophomore goalkeeper Ethan Pearson as Princeton's group of nominees for college hockey's most prestigious award named in honor of one of Princeton's most beloved alumni.
Liam Gorman leads the Tigers in goals this season with 10 is tied for the team lead in points with 16. He has scored in a variety of ways, netting three power-play goals, two short-handed goals to go with his five even-strength scores. Among that national leaders, Gorman ranks No. 24 in goals-per-game and his two SHGs are No. 5 in the country,
Pito Walton has a team-high 12 assists and is also tied for the team lead with 16 points from the blue line. He has a pair of PPGs to his credit this season, and is 12 assists this season are most by an ECAC defenseman.
Ethan Pearson is second among goalies in the country with four shutouts, and his 10-6-0 record overall has him sitting No. 19 in the country in win percentage (.625). He has a 2.32 GAA this season, No. 24 among goalies around the country, and his .918 save percentage is No. 27 among Division I goaltenders.
Awarded annually to college hockey's top player, the Hobey Baker's tremendously popular fan-voting will run from now until Sunday, March 5 at midnight. College hockey fans can cast their vote by going to the voting website https://www.hobeybaker.com/vote.

Phase two of fan balloting will come from the list of Top Ten Hobey Baker finalists beginning March 17 and closing March 26. The fans' vote accounts for a percentage of the total ballot in each phase in selecting this year's award recipient.
Award criteria include candidates exhibiting the exceptional character traits of the award's namesake, Hobey Baker. A legendary American hero, Baker was a World War I fighter pilot and was known as America's greatest amateur athlete in his day, excelling at hockey and football at Princeton University. Award candidates must demonstrate strength of character both on and off the ice, contribute to the integrity of his team and display outstanding skills in all phases of the game. Consideration should be given to scholastic achievement and sportsmanship.
