Women's Tennis Earns 7-0 Sweep of Villanova

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's tennis team didn't drop a set in its 7-0 sweep of Villanova, Friday afternoon inside Jadwin Gymnasium.
The Tigers won the doubles point as Daria Frayman and Neha Velaga overcame Emma Brogan and Valieriia Kornieva at No. 1, 6-1, and Maia Sung and Grace Joyce took down Emi Callahan and Maggie Gehrig 6-1 at the No. 2 position. At No. 3, Leena Bennetto and Zoe Howard earned a 6-1 victory over Amanda Rivera-Gonzalez and Caitlin Fisher.
In singles, at the No. 1 position, fourth-ranked Frayman dispatched Brogan 6-0, 6-0, while Velaga toppled Gehrig at No. 2, 6-2, 6-3. At No. 3, Howard earned a 6-2, 6-0 win over Kornieva at No. 4 Bennetto triumped 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 over Callahan. Maia Sung prevailed 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 5 spot over Amanda Rivera-Gonzalez, and at No. 6 Joyce defeated Bella Steffen, 6-1, 6-0.
