PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's tennis team's dual season continues when it hosts Villanova on Friday, January 20, at 1 p.m. and Penn State on Sunday, January 22, at 10 a.m. Both matches will take place inside Jadwin Gymnasium.
The Tigers, who feature the No. 4 ranked singles player in the nation Daria Frayman, are coming off a 7-0 triumph over Richmond on Sunday, January 15, inside Jadwin Gymnasium in a contest that saw Princeton sweep doubles and singles, and Jamea Jackson earn her first dual match victory as Head Coach of the Tigers.
The Wildcats' match against the Tigers will be their first of the dual season, and they're coming off a 2021-22 season that saw them go 4-10 overall and 2-2 in BIG EAST play. In the 2022 BIG East Tournament, Villanova fell to No. 9 UConn.
Penn State has a 1-1 record so far this season, defeating Xavier 5-2 on Saturday, January 14, before suffering a 5-2 setback against Old Dominion on Sunday, January 15. In 2021-22, the Nittany Lions had an 11-13 overall record and a 5-6 record in Big Ten play. Penn State fell to Minnesota in the second round of the 2022 Big Ten Tournament.
