Women's Swimming & Diving Leads Harvard & Yale After First Session of HYP

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After a highly-competitive first session at HYP at Blodgett Pool Saturday night, the Princeton University women's swimming diving team holds a 75.50-74.50 lead over Yale and a 102-48 lead over Harvard.
The Bulldogs also hold a 99-51 advantage over the Crimson.
In the 1,000 freestyle, Emily Appleton earned a first-place finish after she touched the wall at 9:55.03 while Megan Reich came third with a time of 10:01.76.
Ellie Marquardt won the 200 freestyle, clocking in at 1:47.49, and Sabrina Johnston finished third in 1:48.77.
Princeton earned two out of the top-three finishes in the 200 medley relay; the quartet of Isabella Korbly, Margaux McDonald, Nikki Venema and Sabrina Johnston took second in 1:39.04 while the team of Alexa Pappas, Eliza Brown, Liza Whitmire and Ela Noble came in third with a time of 1:40.85
The Tigers would also earn two out of the top-three finishes in the 100 backstroke, with McDonald finishing second in 54.24 and Whitmire third in 55.17, and the 200 butterfly as Venema came in second in 1:57.04, and Pappas third in 2:00.65.
With a time of 23.00, Amelia Liu finished second in the 50 freestyle.
Eliza Brown also earned a third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke, with a time of 1:02.29.
