Women's Swimming & Diving Splits HYP Meet

RESULTS
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Princeton University women's swimming & diving team split a highly-competitive HYP meet, defeating defending Ivy League Champion Harvard, 212-88, but falling just short to Yale, 155.50-144.50, Sunday afternoon at Blodgett Pool.
The Bulldogs also prevailed over the Crimson, 210-90.
Nikki Venema added another first-place finish, this time in the 100 freestyle after she finished with an NCAA B cut time of 48.87.
Charlotte Martinkus continued her impressive freshman campaign, winning on the 1-meter board with a score of 288.00, an NCAA Zone cut.
In the 200 backstroke, the Tigers would earn two out of the top-three finishes, with Margaux McDonald winning the event in 1:57.66 and Isabella Korbly coming in third in 1:57.97. Princeton also claimed two out of the top-three finishes in the 500 freestyle, as Emily Appleton finished second after clocking in at 4:49.13, and Megan Reich third at 4:52.90.
The Tigers finished both second and third in the 400 freestyle relay; Amelia Liu, Ela Noble, Sabrina Johnston and Liza Whitmire took second in 3:20.26., while the quartet of Caroline Lewitt, Jaime Chen, Ellie Marquardt and Venema finished third in 3:22.36.
Eliza Brown came in third in the 200 breaststroke, with a time of 2:17.14. Liu also earned a third-place finish in the 100 butterfly, clocking in at 54.06, as did Marquardt in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.80.
