PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton men's volleyball team will head to New York this week to open up the 2023 season on the road with two, back-to-back matches.
The Tigers will begin the '23 campaign on Monday at 7 p.m. in Buffalo N.Y., for a match against D'Youville, and the following day will travel to Amherst, N.Y. for a 7 p.m. match with Daemon. The team begins this season equipped with a roster made up of fresh talent and experienced returners.
The defending Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Champions (EIVA) welcome back ten upperclassmen this season, including senior Nate Thompson. Thompson was a 2022 All-EIVA honorable mention selection and ranked second on the team in points per set (3.22).
Junior, Ben Harrington, another key returner for the Tigers, enters the year coming off of an impressive 2022 campaign that included accolades such as EIVA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, All-EIVA First Team selection, and EIVA Newcomer of the Year.
Additionally, the Tigers return four sophomores and welcome seven first years. In 2022, sophomore Henry Wedbush ranked second on the team in assists, with 403, and assists per set, with 5.84. Wedbush was also recently named a 2023 EIVA player to watch this season for Princeton.
