Kovács Earnes NWPC Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week Honors

PRINCETON - Kristóf Kovács earned Northeast Water Polo Conference Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week.
Kovacs set a personal high with 20 saves allowing just nine goals in a 16-9 win over Iona. It's just the 11th time in program history that a Tiger has recorded 20 stops in a game. It's the sixth time he's earned a conference weekly award, collecting three Rookie and three Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Princeton, at No. 6 in the CWPA Varsity Poll and No. 7 in the ACWPC Poll, begins its fall break trip at No. 9 UC Irvine on Sunday at 3 p.m.
