October 13, 2023 | Women's Cross Country
BRONX, NY. - The Princeton women's cross country team placed 2nd this year in the 114th annual IC4A and 40th annual ECAC Cross Country Championships in Bronx, NY.
At the 3.9K mark of the Women's Open, Princeton was leading the pack with runners in the top ten. Madeline Cramer in first place and Mari Noble in second. Angie Allen was in fourth, Katelyn Maley in sixth and Isabel Max in 8th.
Maddie Cramer claimed victory with a strong performance in the Open 6K, securing first place. Mari Noble put on an impressive display as well, finishing in second place, while Angie Allen completed the podium by coming in third.
"It was a great opportunity for me to focus on the mental component of my race," said Cramer. "The best part was finishing at the top of the pack with my team!"
At the 3.9K mark of the Women's Championship 6K, Tsion Yared led for the Tigers in 6th place with Fiona Max and Maggie Liebich behind her in 9th and 10th
Tsion Yared moved her way up to finish third in the standings with a time of 20:50.6. Maggie Liebich improved to 6th place position and Fiona Max finished in 11th. The Tigers secured a 2nd place victory with 57.
"We showed massive improvement as a team today," said head coach Brad Hunt. "Tsion, Maggie and Fiona paved the way up front and Mena Scatchard made a significant impact in her return to the lineup. Tip of the cap to Lucca Fulkerson on finishing as our fifth scorer as she worked to keep our freshmen engaged in the race. The tone of the day was set in the open race as Maddie Cramer, Mari Noble and Angie Allen went 1-2-3 with Izzy Max and Katelyn Maley both in the top 10. We believe we are a good team capable of good things in the championship season beginning in 2 weeks. We will need to take another step forward in training as we take advantage of fall break and continue to race aggressively against top competition at the Ivy League and Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships.
