No. 6 Men's Water Polo Drops Close Battle To No. 1 UCLA, 12-10

CALIFORNIA - The No. 6 Men's Water Polo squad battled but came up short against the No. 1 UCLA Bruins, 12-10.
The Bruins held a 4-2 lead in the first quarter, but goals from Finn LeSieur and Pierce Maloney tied the score at 4-all. UCLA recorded a goal with one second to go in the quarter to take 5-4 advantage into the second stanza.
This time, it was Princeton who registered a tally with one second to go as Roko Pozaric evened the score at 7-all right before the break.
UCLA scored the first two goals of the second half, but Vladan Mitrovic's shot got Princeton within one, 9-8, as the game headed into the fourth frame.
Mitrovic tied the non-conference battle at 9-all with 6:51 left, but UCLA countered with two more goals. The junior got the Tigers within striking distance with a tally at the 2:28 mark, but head coach Dustin Litvak's squad could not find the equalizer.
Kristóf Kovács had 10 saves in the loss.
