Men's Tennis Has Strong First Day At ITA Super Regionals

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's tennis team had an impressive first day at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Super Regional Championships Friday, winning five out of six matches.

The Tigers went 2-for-2 in the doubles round of 16, with the duo of Fnu Nidunjianzan and Paul Inchauspe earning a 7-5, 7-5 victory over Miles Grooms and Waleed Qadir of Dartmouth. Ellis Short and Sebastian Sec also took down Dartmouth's Henry Ren and Alex Knox-Jones, 3-6, 6-3, 10-6.

In the singles round of 32, No. 118 Sec overcame No. 62 Max Westphal of Columbia, 7-5, 5-5 and Inchauspe prevailed over Harvard's Marc Ktiri, 6-0, 7-6 (7-2). In addition, Ellis Short triumphed 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 over Ren.
