Men's Tennis Opens Play at Notre Dame & Wake Forest Tournaments

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Princeton University men's tennis team opened its final weekend of fall tournament play in 2023 Friday at both the Fighting Irish Mini-Duals and the Wake Forest Invitational.

At Notre Dame, the team of Ellis Short and Evan Wen defeated Drake's Jeremy Schifris and Olle Sonesson Lidholt 2-1 and Notre Dame's Chase Thompson and Yu Zhang, 6-4. Paul Inchauspe and Landon Ardila earned a 6-4 victory over Nil Giraldez and Jameson Corsillo of Drake, while Matthew Bosancic and Aleksandar Mitric triumphed 7-6 (7-5) over Oliver Johnansson and Matija Matic of Drake.

In singles, Wen took down Lidholt 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (7), Inchauspe upended Laurentiu Mandocescu of DePaul, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (7), and Ardila dispatched Leon Huck of DePaul, 6-2, 6-4.

At Wake Forest the duo of Fnu Nidunjianzan and Alan Kam made the final of their singles flight after going a perfect 2-0 on the day. They first earned a 6-3 victory over Faris Khan and Connor Krug of Duke before taking down Will Peters and Anuj Watane of UNC, 6-3.

In singles, Kam prevailed over Davidson's Max Kacharov, 6-2, 6-2.
