No. 69 Men's Tennis Triumphs Over Navy & Monmouth

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 69 Princeton University men's tennis team earned a pair of wins Saturday inside Jadwin Gymnasium, first defeating Navy 7-0 and following with a 6-1 triumph over Monmouth.
"We did a good job today of playing to our standard throughout the day," said Head Coach Billy Pate. "It was nice to see Ben and Aidan get some playing time and contribute to the success. We have a tough home stand next weekend and will work hard this week preparing for those crucial matches."
Princeton vs. Navy
The Tigers won the doubles point, with Filippos Astreinidis and Fnu Nidunjianzan overcoming Andres Ballestros and Eric Liu at No. 1, 6-1, and Thomas Bosancic and Matthew Bosancic earning a 6-0 victory over Matthew McNair and Graydon Buckingham.
In singles, Nidunjianzan triumphed over Buckingham at No. 1 6-0, 6-0, and Sebastian Sec took down McNair 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2. At No. 3 Ellis Short overcame Eric Liu 6-1, 6-0, while at No. 4 Aidan Mahoney prevailed over Andres Ballestros 6-2, 6-1. Ben Smith defeated Dylan Carol 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5.
Due to the Midshipmen only bringing five players, two doubles and five singles matches were played.
Princeton vs. Monmouth
The Tigers swept the Hawks in doubles, with Thomas Bosancic and Short upending Niels Van Noord and Victor Castro at No. 1, 6-2, Sec and Alan Kam dispatching Dmitry Bezborodov and Charlie Penman at No. 2, 6-2, and Nidunjianzan and Ben Smith earning a 6-2 triumph over Gabriel Busato and Arthur Dussaubat at No. 3.
In singles, Nidunjianzan prevailed 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 over Van Noord, while Thomas Bosancic beat Bezborodov, 6-4, 6-0, at No. 2. At No. 3, Sec prevailed 6-3, 6-1 over Penman and Short knocked off Castro at No. 4, 5-7, 6-4, 10-5. At the No. 5 position, Matthew Bosancic held off Alex Zuckerman 6-0, 6-3.
