As one of just three teams to qualify the full complement of 12 fencers to the NCAA Championships, the Princeton fencing teams will aim to take home another trophy from the meet at Duke, set to run Thursday through Sunday.
Princeton has taken home eight top-four trophies since 2011, including winning the team title in 2013. The Tigers placed fourth last year, the team's best finish since its next-most recent trophy in 2017. The 2020 championships were not held due to the pandemic, and Princeton and the Ivy League programs did not compete at the 2021 event due to the pandemic.
The men's competition will be Thursday and Friday with the women set to compete Saturday and Sunday. The winner of each bout will add a point to the team total, and the combined men's and women's total of all the wins in pool competition against the other 23 fencers in that weapon will determine the team competition. The top four fencers in each weapon will compete first in semifinals and, with a win, a final, both 15-touch bouts to determine the weapon champion.
Thursday and Saturday will start at 9 a.m. for epee, 11 a.m. for foil, and 1:30 p.m. for saber. Competition on Friday and Sunday will start at 9 a.m. for all three weapons. Live scoring can be found here.
