Season's Second No-Hitter Leads to Laudenslager's Third Ivy Pitcher of the Week Honor
March 27, 2023 | Softball
For the third time this season, Princeton senior Alexis Laudenslager has earned the Ivy League's Pitcher of the Week honor, this time after equaling the Princeton record for career solo no-hitters, throwing her fourth as a Tiger and second of the season in a seven-inning blanking of Brown last Friday.
Laudenslager leads the Ivy League with 78 strikeouts, almost 30 more than any other Ivy pitcher, as Harvard's Riley Flynn has 49. Laudenslager's career-best single-season strikeout total came last season, with 138, when she won Ivy Pitcher of the Year honors and the Ks total was the 16th-highest in Princeton single-season history. The record stands at 258, held by Erin Snyder '06, whose career record of four career solo no-hitters Laudenslager tied last Friday.
Friday's outing saw Laudenslager strike out 10 with four walks and one hit batter as Brown's only baserunners. It was Laudenslager's fifth 10-plus strikeout game of the season, surpassing last season's total of four such games.
Laudenslager and the Tigers will head to Rider Wednesday before resuming league play this weekend at Penn.
