Men's Tennis Completes Weekend Sweep, Tops Yale 6-1
April 16, 2023 | Men's Tennis
Completing an Ivy League weekend sweep, the Princeton men's tennis team was a 6-1 winner at Yale Sunday, taking the doubles point and five singles matches.
"We capped off of good road weekend by finishing strong today," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "We were fortunate to claw back in the doubles after being down breaks at 1 and 3. That carried over into singles where we were really good in the bottom half of lineup. That really helped us seize momentum and get us to the finish line. It's always challenging to play on the road in league matches, so we'll look to build on this as we head into our final regular season weekend at home with Dartmouth and Harvard."
Wins from Alan Kam and Sebastian Sec on court two and Thomas Bosancic and Filippos Astreinidis on court three clinched the doubles point, and Matthew Bosancic, Astreinidis and Sec had wins in the first three singles matches off court to seal the team win before Thomas Bosancic and Fnu Nidunjianzan had wins on the top two courts to make the 6-1 final.
Winners of three in a row, the Tigers will host Dartmouth and Harvard next Saturday and Sunday to close the regular season.
