Men's Soccer Celebrates 2022 Season At Annual Banquet

The Princeton University men's soccer program gathered together on April 23 to celebrate its 2022 season and honor the members of the Class of 2023 at its annual banquet.
Held at the conclusion of the spring season, the banquet was an opportunity to honor the six members of the Class of 2023 who built a championship legacy, and also to commemorate the many special moments the 2022 team shared during its season.
During the course of the afternoon, the program's annual team awards were also handed out.
Ryan Clare -- The David S. Hackett Memorial Soccer Cup
Awarded annually to the member of the Princeton soccer team whose enthusiasm, discipline and leadership contributed most to the team and the sport of soccer at Princeton.
The team's Most Valuable Player award was presented to Ryan Clare. A first-team All-Ivy selection in 2022, Clare led the team in scoring with 16 points -- scoring seven goals and adding two assists. He had three game-winning goals, No. 2 among Ivy players. Off the field, Clare was named College Sports Communicators Academic All-American.
Ben Bograd and Lucas Gen -- The Robert Myslik Award
Annually awarded to the member of the Princeton men's soccer team who most demonstrates the passion for life, the fiery competitiveness, the unwavering honesty and the selfless generosity of Rob Myslik.
Ben Bograd played in 16 matches this season on defense, logging over 1,100 minutes. A College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection and an Academic All-Ivy honoree, Bograd was one of 26 finalists around the country for the Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup which is presented annually to an athlete who had made great differences in the lives of others.
Lucas Gen earned his second career first-team All-Ivy selection this past season, despite being limited to 11 matches due to injury. The team's captain, Gen averaged 80+ minutes on the back line during his appearances, and pitched in three assists when called upon to play a role on restarts.
Mateo Godoy -- The Dr. William Trevor Trophy
Awarded annually to the member of the Princeton men's soccer team who has shown the greatest improvement in the quality of play and attitude during the season.
After appearing in 13 games over three seasons to start his career, Mateo Godoy played in 14 during his senior season on his way to second-team All-Ivy honors. He had career highs in points (9), goals (2) and assists (5) during his final campaign for the Tigers.
