Women's Cross Country Takes First at New Jersey Jam
September 01, 2023 | Women's Cross Country
PRINCETON, N.J. - Princeton women's cross country hosted the New Jersey Jam and earned several top finishes in the 4K and the win with 15 points after taking the top-five finishing spots. Maggie Liebich took first place with Mena Scatchard in the second place spot and Fiona Max in third.
"We enjoyed the opportunity to race at home on the new championship cross country course at Lake Campus," said head coach Brad Hunt. "We dedicate the victory to the athletic administration and athletic facilities crew for their careful planning and relentless effort to make the championship course a reality. We look forward to building upon today, with our eyes on the championship season come late October and early November. Thank you to all the great fans and meet management for creating an electric home atmosphere."
As the results show, the team emphasized racing as a pack and working together throughout the race. The upperclassmen did an excellent job of paving the way for the freshmen to succeed in their first collegiate race in the black and orange. The race as a pack mentality will help the team to be successful against the top competition in the Ivy League and Mid-Atlantic Region.
