A quick start from the defending national champions proved too large a hill to climb in a 9-2 loss for Princeton at No. 5/5 Quinnipiac to open a home-and-home series with the Bobcats in ECAC play.

Jack Cronin and Adam Robbins had Princeton's goals, while Kai Daniells added two assists. The Tigers were 1-for-3 on the power play in the game, while killing off both Quinnipiac man advantages.

It was all Quinnipiac early as the Bobcats scored four times in the opening 5:13 before Jack Cronin got the Tigers on the board with his eighth goal of the season at the 6:13 mark with assists from David Jacobs and Kai Daniells.

The Bobcats would tack on two more in the first for a 6-1 lead after the opening period.

In the second period, Princeton settled in and kept the Bobcats off the board while netting a power-play goal from Adam Robbins with 1:10 remaining in the frame to make it a 6-2 game.

The Bobcats would then tack on three goals in the third period to extend their lead.

The Tigers and Bobcats complete the home-and-home at Hobey Baker Rink on January 13. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m.
