A three-goal run from Colgate to open the third period broke open a one-goal game as the Raiders knocked off Princeton, 6-3.
Â
Adam Robbins had a goal and an assist for Princeton, Nick Seitz and Jack Cronin added the other two goals.
Â
Dom Foglia opened the scoring off a faceoff just 3:38 in, sending a slap shot through a screen for a 1-0 Colgate lead.
Â
Jack Cronin would counter just under four minutes later with a power-play goal. Noah de la Durantaye's original shot off the faceoff was blocked, but Brendan Gorman was able to corral the loose puck and funnel back to de la Durantaye at the point who slid it over to Cronin for a wrist shot which was targeted for the top corner to tie the game.
Â
Princeton pushed through the final seconds of the first period, finding the equalizer with 9.5 seconds left in the opening frame when Adam Robbins intercepted and errant Colgate clearing pass following a fierce forecheck from Brendan Gorman and walked in alone to beat Gylander five-hole.
Â
Colgate regained the lead with a run of power-play goals from Ryan McGuire and Alex DiPaolo.
Â
McGuire connected midway through the second period, slipping free in the slot to connect on a one-timer.
Â
With the Tigers on a five-minute penalty kill after a major penalty to Brendan Gorman at the end of the second period, Colgate worked quickly to take a two-goal lead as DiPaolo one-timed home a cross-ice pass 0:58 into the period.
Â
McGuire would then tack on another power-play goal 4:22 into the third period, a similar score to his one in the second period as he worked free in the bumper position and connected on a slap shot.
Â
Just over a minute later, Ben Raymond broke in on a 2-on-1 and scored to make it a 6-2 game.
Â
Nick Seitz would give the Tigers some life with a power-play goal 7:49 into the third period. Ethan Pearson picked up his second career assist as he set up the breakout for Adam Robbins who carried the puck the rest of the way before slipping a pass to an on-charging Seitz who snapped the puck under the crossbar.
