
No. 9 Water Polo Claims Victory In First Home NWPC Matchups

PRINCETON, N.J.- The No. 9 Princeton men's water polo team faced the No. 18 Brown Bears and MIT Engineers for their first home Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) games. The Tigers held both teams to single digit scoring to pick up two more conference wins.
Princeton 14, Brown 8
The Bears struck first but the Tigers were able to answer right back to back goals from Finn LeSieur.
Princeton went on a 3-1 run to hold a 5-2 lead going into the half.
The Tigers added to their total with four goals in the third, all from different scorers.
Thanks to another five goals in the fourth quarter, Princeton held off Brown from creating too many opportunities and earned their first conference home win.
Roko Pozaric and LeSieur paced the Tigers offense with three goals each.
The reigning NWPC Defensive Player of the Week Kristóf Kovács held the Bears to just one goal in each of the three quarters.

Princeton 20, MIT 5
Looking to carry the momentum from the afternoon victory, the Tigers got off to a quick start in the second game of the day against MIT. Molloy got Princeton on the board just 26 seconds into the matchup.
Vladan Mitrovic scored before the Engineers got one back to make it 2-1 after the first.
Right when the whistle blew to start the second quarter, the flood gates opened. Pozaric scored quickly taking advantage of an MIT ejection. The Engineers scored to try and keep things close but the Tigers took off. Princeton tallied eight goals in the second from seven different goal scorers.
With a strong lead, Princeton was able to show off the depth of the roster. Several Tigers scored their first career goals including Teddy Rountree-Shtulman, Aidan Bruno and Bhavan Aulakh. Rees Barnes recorded his first of the season and Daniel Rodriguez tallied his first career home goal.
Kovács set a new single game career high five steals in a single game.
Princeton earned a comfortable 20-5 win as Ohl and Peocz led the Tigers' scoring with each scoring three. The performance was the first hat trick of Peocz's career and Ohl's second.
