Men's Golf Finishes 6th At Hamptons Intercollegiate

Results
Princeton rebounded with a strong final 36 holes to shoot up the team leaderboard and finish 6th out of 12 teams at the Hamptons Intercollegiate at Maidstone. The Tigers were 11th overall after the opening round, but shot -7 as a team over the final two rounds to work their way back up -- only four teams were better over the final two rounds than the Tigers.
Riccardo Fantinelli led Princeton with a T9 finish at even par over the 54 holes. His play over the final two rounds mirrored that of the team as he was -6 over his final 36 holes to counter a +6 first round during what was very challenging conditions -- only five of the 64 golfers in the field were under par after 18 holes while 26 were under par in round 2 and 18 were under par in the closing round.
Fantinelli birdied 12 of 36 holes played over the final two rounds, and finished with 15 birdies overall which was tied for second-most among players in the field.
Charlie Palmer was +5 after the first round, but followed with back-to-back rounds of even par golf to finish 25th.
William Huang rallied back as well. After opening with an 83 (+11), he shot even par in the second round and was -3 in the final round to improve 23 spots and finish in 29th place. Over his final 36 holes, he carded a pair of eagles and eight birdies.
Ole Miss was the team champion at -26 overall, while Florida State (-6), Virginia (-5) and Wake Forest (-1) were the other three teams under par. Ole Miss was bolstered by Michael La Sasso who was -15 overall to win the tournament by 11 strokes.
