Huang Takes Medalist Honors At Georgetown Intercollegiate As Tigers Claim Team Title

William Huang claimed a nine-shot victory to win the individual championship at the Georgetown Intercollegiate, combining with teammate Reed Gresyerman for a 1-2 finish which propelled the Tigers to the overall team championship as well.
Huang was -8 over the three rounds, opening with a 65 (-6) before posting back-to-back rounds of 70 (-1) to earn the win. Greyserman was even-par for each of the final two rounds after opening with a 72 (+1) to finish +1 overall and secure his highest finish of his young collegiate careers.
Overall, Princeton was +7 as a team (288) over the 54 holes to outlast Campbell who were second at +15 (867). The Tigers has to rally after Campbell opened with a -10 team score in the first round -- six strokes better than Princeton's -4 in the first round. The second round on Monday saw the weather come into play as blustery winds wrecked havoc on the 12-team field. Campbell was +10 in that second round to end the day at even par overall, while Princeton was +7 to make uop three strokes heading into the final round.
The Tigers were +4 as a team over the final 18 holes -- the best team score of the final day -- to overtake the Camels and secure their second team championship of the fall after opening the season with a win at the Howard/USF Intercollegiate.
Huang's 65 in the opening round on Monday tied for the low round by a Tiger in modern program history and is the sixth 65 dating back to 1993-94. It also tied the lowest round to par (-6) in a single round alongside nine other rounds of -6.
The win is the third of Huang's career and the second individual win of the season by a Tiger, joining Riccardo Fantinelli who won the Howard?USF Intercollegiate.
Princeton is now off from official competition until the spring semester.
