2025 Schedule
Looking for its fourth straight Ivy League title, the Princeton softball team has announced its 2025 schedule, a slate that will send the Tigers to pre-conference tournaments at North Carolina and Texas A&M before a spring trip split between Northern California and a Missouri-hosted tournament.
Princeton returns all five of its All-Ivy honorees from 2024, including third baseman Sonia Zhang, outfielder Lauren Sablone, catcher/third baseman Julia Dumais, first baseman Sophia Marsalo, and outfielder Allison Ha. The team's three top pitchers by innings pitched are back as well in innings and wins leader Cassidy Shaw, Meghan Harrington, and Brielle Wright, who set the program and league single-season and career saves records last season. Another program career record may fall this season, with Sablone entering her senior season with 43 stolen bases, just 13 back of the program record of 56.Â
Schedule Highlights:
• Princeton will open its season with a Feb. 14-16 tournament at North Carolina with five games in total against host UNC, Drexel and George Mason. Grace Jackson '24 is competing for North Carolina in a graduate season after a Tiger career that saw her earn two All-Ivy League honors and a spot on the 2024 Ivy League All-Tournament Team with Princeton winning the tournament.
• After an off weekend, Princeton will compete at Texas A&M Feb. 27-Mar. 1, facing the host team as well as Texas Tech, Texas State and Idaho State. Texas A&M advanced to an NCAA super regional last season, Texas State advanced to a regional final, and Texas Tech has a new coach in Gerry Glasco, whose Louisiana team hosted Princeton in the NCAA regional last season, and a new standout pitcher in NiJaree Canady, who was a first-team All-American last season at Stanford.
• The spring trip will send Princeton to the San Jose area for doubleheaders against San José State and Santa Clara Mar. 9-10 before Princeton begins the trip back east with a stop at Missouri for a tournament Mar. 13-14. Princeton is scheduled to compete there against South Dakota State, Michigan and Quinnipiac as well as the host Tigers. Missouri advanced to an NCAA super regional while Michigan was a regional finalist.Â
• Princeton's first game at Cynthia Lynn Paul '94 Field in Princeton's Meadows Neighborhood home is set for Mar. 22 vs. Harvard. The Tigers have Ivy home series against Harvard (Mar. 22-23), Yale (Mar. 29-30), and Columbia (Apr. 18-19) while heading on the road against Dartmouth (Apr. 5-6), Cornell (Apr. 12-13), Penn (Apr. 26-27) and Brown (May 3-4).Â
• Once the Tigers return east, the team has non-conference games against Lehigh (Apr. 2, home), Monmouth (Apr. 23, away) and Rider (Apr. 29, home doubleheader).
• The Ivy League Tournament is set for May 8-10 at the highest seed.Â
