Women’s Swim To Open Season Hosting Brown, Dartmouth

PRINCETON, N.J.- The defending Ivy League Champions are ready to be back in the pool this weekend. The Tigers will host the Brown Bears and Dartmouth Big Green on Nov. 9 at 11 AM to open the 2024-25 season.
2023-24 NCAA Qualifiers
The Tigers return four swimmers and three divers who competed at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Dakota Tucker swam in three events- the 200 individual medley, 400 individual medley and the 200 breaststroke. Eleanor Sun joined Tucker in the 200 IM and 400 IM and also competed in the 200 butterfly. Sabrina Johnston swam the 50 and 100 freestyle. Heidi Smithwick rounds out the group of swimmers and she competed in the 200 butterfly.
Charlotte Martinkus, Francesca Noviello and Maddie Seltzer represented Princeton in diving. Seltzer competed on all three boards while Novielo and Martinkus competed on 1-meter and 3-meter.
All-Ivy
Princeton picked up three major Ivy League awards and was First Team All-Ivy in 11 events and Second Team in eight events.
Head coach Abby Brethauer was named the Coach of the Year, Dakota Tucker the High Point Swimmer of the Meet and Ellie Marquardt '24 the Career High Point Swimmer.
Ring ring!
The 2023-24 season was highlighted by Princeton's 25th Ivy League Championship Title and second straight victory. The Tigers accumulated 1403 points across the meet.
Going Global
Dakota Tucker (South Africa), Heidi Smithwick (United States), Eleanor Sun (United States) and Donata Katai (Zimbabwe) pursued berths for the 2024 Paris Olympics this past summer by competing at the Olympic trials.
New Faces At DeNunzio
The Princeton women's swimming and diving team welcomed six new members to the team as part of the Class of 2028. Maggie Squire, Charlotte Norman, Jenna Walters, Natalie Farquhar, Nicole DePree and Katherine White will make their debut this weekend for the Tigers.
