Tall's Double-Double Leads Women's Basketball Over Middle Tennessee, 64-51
December 29, 2024 | Women's Basketball
PRINCETON – Fadima Tall recorded her second career double-double with a personal-high 16 points and 13 rebounds as the Princeton Women's Basketball Team defeated the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders, 64-51, at Jadwin Gym on Sunday.
Â
Head coach Carla Berube's team allowed just two baskets in the first frame and ran out to an 11-6 lead as the second quarter got underway.
Â
A 7-2 push by the Tigers extended their advantage to 10, 20-10, with 6:24 to go in the first half. The home team eventually led 37-25 at the break. Princeton was 8-of-13 shooting in the second stanza as Tall scored 12 of her 16 points during that stretch. The sophomore was one rebound shy of the double-double in the first 20 minutes.
Â
Middle Tennessee closed the gap to eight, 39-31, just two minutes into the second half, but Princeton ripped off 12 of 15 to go up 17, 51-34. Berube's unit led by as many as 19 the rest of the way and was not threatened.
Â
Skye Belker led the Tigers with 17 points, her eighth double-digit performance of the season. Princeton hit a season-best 23 free throws and outrebounded Middle Tennessee, 40-31.
Â
Tall had scored 13 points, a career-high four times including three straight contests before today's performance.
Â
Princeton improves 8-4 overall and now has won 23 straight games at home, the third longest streak in the NCAA. The Tigers welcome Le Moyne to Jadwin on New Year's Eve. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m.
