PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's tennis team successfully defended home court with a 7-0 sweep of Temple Friday afternoon inside Jadwin Gymnasium.
The Tigers won the doubles point, with the team of Madeleine Jessup and Alice Ferlito first taking down Sena Takebe and Veda Prapurna, 6-2, at No. 3. Eva Elbaz and Leena Bennetto then clinched the doubles point for Princeton, overcoming Vineetha Mummadi and Marianthi Christoforidou at No. 2, 6-3.
Singles began with Alice Ferlito dispatching Veda Prapurna at No. 6, 6-1, 6-1, before Elbaz earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 5 over Sena Tabeke. At No. 3, Bennetto prevailed over Jesse Zheng, 6-3, 6-1, before Jessup upended Maiko Uchijima at No. 2, 6-4, 6-4. Maia Sung would defeat Thamara Frasser Kawaratatni 6-2, 6-4, at No. 1 then Bella Chhiv would finish things with a 6-2, 6-4, win over Marianthi Christoforidou at No. 4.
