Softball Team Selected to Louisiana Regional for NCAA Tournament

Louisiana will host the Princeton softball team as the Tigers get set to play in their 12th NCAA tournament and second in the last three years.

Princeton and Louisiana will play on Friday at 5:30 p.m. ET, 4:30 p.m. local time in Lafayette, La. in a game streamed on ESPN+/. Princeton will then play on Saturday against either Ole Miss or Baylor as the regional continues.

Princeton advanced to the NCAAs by winning the Ivy League Tournament on Saturday at Princeton Softball Stadium at Strubing Field, defending their top seed with a 1-0 if-necessary game win over Harvard in a season that saw the program win its 22nd Ivy League title.

Princeton and Louisiana have met five times in their history, once at the 1996 Women's College World Series, twice in 1997 at a Princeton-hosted in-season tournament, once in 2004 at an in-season tournament in Fullerton, Calif., and most recently in 2023 at a Texas-hosted in-season tournament. Louisiana won each of the five meetings. Princeton has never faced Ole Miss or Baylor.
