Sablone Adds Ivy Weekly Honor to Memorable Weekend

After hitting a home run that will forever add the year 2024 to Princeton's listing of Ivy League championship seasons, Lauren Sablone has earned the honor of being the Ivy League Player of the Week.

Sablone's week went beyond the historic three-run, walkoff shot, as she hit .417 (5-12) on the four-game week, adding a triple and the home run to slug .833 and a walk for a .462 on-base percentage.

In the three-game series against Cornell, Sablone had hits in all three games and drove in six RBI in the series, going 3 for 4 in the opener before adding a hit in Saturday's first game and the three-run homer in Saturday's game two. Sablone and the Tigers were down to their last strike and trailed 4-2 before the three-run homer to get Princeton the win and a share of the Ivy League title.

Princeton will host the Ivy League Tournament beginning Thursday with the winning team from the four-team event earning the Ivy's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
