Team USA opened against eventual bronze medalist Poland in the quarterfinals, coming up just short, 31-29. Husisian competed in three bouts and Holmes one, combining for 14 of the 29 U.S. touches. Team USA then competed against South Korea in a placement bout, with the South Koreans winning 45-39. The two Tigers had 19 of the 39 touches over six bouts in that match.
The seventh-place match went the Americans' way, 44-30 over Egypt, with Holmes and Husisian combined for 30 of the 44 touches over six bouts.
The event wrapped Holmes' and Husisian's Olympic competition, which was Holmes' second Olympics and Husisian's debut.
Next up in Princeton's contingent, Maia Weintraub (USA) and Sabrina Fang (Canada) will compete in the women's foil team event on Thursday. Canada will start against France in the quarters while the U.S. will open against China, with both matches starting at 5:50 a.m. ET.
