No. 7 Men’s Water Polo Travels To New York For Weekend Matchups

PRINCETON, N.J.- The Tigers are set to head to New York for a three game slate. The first matchup of the weekend is set against the No. 9 Fordham Rams.

Tigers To Watch
Roko Pozaric and Kristóf Kovács each earned their second NWPC weekly honors.
Pozaric, the conference Player of the Week, notched 12 goals at the MPSF Invitational, including four versus. No 1. UCLA, four against No. 6 Cal and three in the victory over No. 10 Long Beach. He tallied four assists, five steals, three blocks and went 13-2 in sprints.
Kovács, the back to back Defensive Player of the Week, made 34 saves and allowed 54 goals. He also recorded 2 steals and three assists on the weekend.
Gavin Appeldorn had a strong weekend in his home state, scoring nine goals at the tournament. The freshman recorded two four-goal games against UCLA and UCSD respectively. Appeldorn added three assists, three steals, and one block to his stats.
History
The Tigers have won the five most recent matchups against the Rams, including a 15-9 win in 2023.
Princeton faced Iona three times in the 2023 season. In all three matchups, the Tigers claimed victory as they held the Gaels to single digit scoring.
The Tigers and Sharks met for the first time in program history in 2023. The two teams went head to head three times, with Princeton coming out on top in all three. The Sharks were held to single digit scoring in the three games.
