PRINCETON, N.J. – After beginning the season with a challenging slate of non-conference opponents, the Princeton men's soccer team returns home on Saturday, September 28th to open up Ivy League play against the Harvard Crimson. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Roberts Stadium.

PRINCETON, N.J. – After beginning the season with a challenging slate of non-conference opponents, the Princeton men's soccer team returns home on Saturday, September 28th to open up Ivy League play against the Harvard Crimson. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Roberts Stadium.
About the Tigers
- Princeton returns home for its second game of the week after falling to Georgetown 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon in Washington, D.C for a record of 2-3 on the season.
- Three Tigers scored in Princeton's last win against Colgate on September 17th, handing the Tigers their first home victory, 3-1.Â
- Junior forward Daniel Ittycheria recorded a goal and an assist in the match, his third goal and second assist of the season.Â
- Sophomore forward Kevin Kelley also scored his second goal of the season against Colgate.Â
- Junior forward Will Francis scored his first goal of the season in the contest, after netting four during the 2023 season.
- The Tigers' other win this season came against St. John's, 2-1, on September 10th in Queens.
- Ittycheria, the 2023 Ivy League top-scorer, leads the Tigers with three goals and two assists for seven points on the season so far. Kelley is behind him with 5 points off of two goals and an assist.
- Princeton is currently ranked 10th in the country in corner kicks per game, averaging 7.20.Â
- Senior captain Khamari Hadaway has been solid in goal for the Tigers, recording 90 minutes in all five matches so far and making 15 saves on the season.
- The Tigers finished the 2023 season 4-8-3, going 1-4-2 in Ivy league play.Â
- In addition to Hadaway, fellow seniors Issa Mudashiru and Harry Roberts were elected as co-captains to lead the 2024 Tiger side. Â
About the New Tigers
- The Tigers' Class of 2028 was ranked the no. 13 recruiting class by TopDrawerSoccer, including Cyrus Klinenberg (No. 77), Kristian Kelley (No. 82), Roka Tsunehara (No. 113), Dash Papez (No. 116), and Nathan Salerno.
- The Tiger newcomers are already making significant contributions to the Orange and Black's success. Papez has recorded three starts and an assist for the Tigers, while Tsunehara has two starts to his credit so far.
- Tsunehara was named to the TopDrawerSoccer preseason All-Freshman team on August 20. The Burlingame, Calif., native was the 2022 MLS Next U16 National MVP. He was also a leading scorer for the San Jose Earthquakes U17 team as they reached the semifinals of the MLS Next cup in 2023.
- A pair of new Tigers hail from the D.C. United academy system, as Papez and Zhang led their team to win the U16 MLS Next Cup Playoffs while making deep runs in both his U15 and U17 years.
- Freshman goalkeeper Salerno comes to Princeton after playing with the Columbus Crew II and helping secure key victories in the MLS Next Pro playoffs.Â
About Coach Barlow
- Head coach Jim Barlow is in his 28th season as the men's soccer head coach and has accumulated 212 career wins with the Tigers, the most for any soccer coach in Princeton history, men's or women's. Barlow was also named the 2021 Ivy League Coach of the Year.
About Harvard
- Harvard is 0-2-3 on the season so far, most recently falling 5-0 to the University of Vermont on Saturday.Â
- The Crimson's trip to Princeton marks its fifth consecutive game on the road, as Harvard was last in Cambridge for its season-opening draw against Holy Cross, 1-1.Â
- Sophomore forward Dylan Tellado leads the Crimson with three goals on the season, two of which came during Harvard's 3-2 loss to then-no. 13 Seton Hall on September 14th.
- Senior midfielder Marko Isakovic is the only other Crimson player to have a goal to his credit, also registering two assists for four points on the season.
- Cullen MacNeil has taken the majority of games in goal for Harvard, registering nine saves and one shutout so far.
- Princeton is 10-9-3 all time against Harvard, with the Orange & Black holding a 5-4-1 record against the Crimson at home.Â
- The last meeting between the two sides was a 2-1 Crimson victory in Cambridge last season, with Will Francis scoring the lone goal for the Tigers.
