Football Uses Balanced Attack In 40-21 Win Over Brown

The Tigers opened the contest with a 19-yard reception from Aidan Besselman and proceeded to go 85 yards in five minutes. On 4th and goal from the three-yard line, Kai Colón tossed a jump ball to Jackson Green that the Tiger wide receiver caught to give Princeton an early lead.

After a Princeton turnover, Brown responded with a touchdown on a 27-yard run from Matt Childs with 7:00 left in the first quarter.
Following a Princeton punt, Jalen Jones snagged an interception off a deflection from Nasir Hill and returned it to the Brown 21-yard line. A few plays later, Esteban Nunez Perez drilled a field goal from 37 yards out to make it 10-7 Princeton with 2:48 remaining in the opening period.
Brown retook the lead on a one-yard dash from Qwentin Brown 3:33 into the second quarter. After a possessions for both teams ended in a Princeton turnover and a Brown three and out, Josh Robinson put the road squad back in front via this impressive snag with 6:31 to play in the first half.

Esteban Nunez Perez added a 29-yard field goal in the waning seconds of the first half to give Princeton a 20-14 advantage heading to the break.
Brown opened the second half with the ball and drove down to the Princeton 30-yard line before Torian Roberts intercepted a pass near the goal line, the fifth of his career.
Another turnover of sorts came into play for the Tiger as after Brown forced a Princeton punt the ball hit one of its players and was scooped up by Sam McCormick. After a 13-yard catch by Kai Honda got the Tigers in the red zone, Asher Weiner finished off the drive with a 1-yard touchdown to put the road unit in front for good, 26-14, midway through the third quarter.
After a Brown punt on its next drive, Honda had 61 all-purpose yards on a drive that ended with a 12-yard scamper by Ethan Clark that put Princeton up, 33-14, with 1:23 left in the third.
The Bears responded with a second touchdown from Childs, but two possessions later Nasir Hill corralled another interception for the Tigers' defense and Honda put the game away …

Princeton's defense got consecutive sacks by AJ Pigford to end the next Brown drive and put the exclamation point on the victory and improve Princeton to 2-0 in the Ivy League alongside fellow unbeatens Harvard and Penn who are also 2-0 in Ivy play.
Clark had a career-high 120 yards on the ground while Honda had 100 all-purpose yards. Robinson led the Tigers with eight grabs for 91 yards. Colón threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns while Pigford paced the team with seven stops in the victory.
Princeton improves to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the Ivy League while Brown dropped to 3-2 this season and 0-2 in conference action. Head coach Bob Surace's squad welcomes No. 18 Harvard to Princeton Stadium next Saturday for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.
