Samuels, Ittycheria and Princeton Coaching Staff Earn Ivy League Major Awards
November 12, 2025 | Men's Soccer
PRINCETON, N.J. – Andrew Samuels was named Defensive Player of the Year, Daniel Ittycheria was named Offensive Player of the Year, and 10 Tigers were named All-Ivy selections as the Ivy League announced its major awards on Wednesday.
Winning three awards as Princeton was also named Coaching Staff of the Year, the Tigers also boasted six First Team All-Ivy selections and two on both the Second Team and the Honorable Mention list.
The awards come after Princeton won its 11th Ivy League Championship title this season, going 7-0 in the Ivy League for just the third time in program history.
Samuels was named Ivy Defensive Player of the Year, marking the first time in program history that a Tiger has won the award since its creation in 2013. The honor comes after a record-breaking season that saw Samuels not allow a single goal in the Ivy League - the first time a team has achieved that feat in league history.
Ittycheria was named Ivy Offensive Player of the Year, marking the first time a Tiger has won the award since current NYCFC player Kevin O'Toole won it in 2021. Ittycheria leads the Tigers in goals with eight on the season, combining with two assists for a team-high 18 points.
Samuels, Ittycheria, and centerback Giuliano Fravolini Whitchurch were all named to the First Team All-Ivy by unanimous selection.
Joining them on the First Team are seniors Jack Jasinski and Sam Vigilante and junior Bardia Hormozi.
Roka Tsunehara and Liam Beckwith were named to the Second Team All-Ivy.
Dash Papez and Jack Hunt were named All-Ivy Honorable Mentions.
The Princeton coaching staff, led by Jim Barlow in his 29th season, were unanimously selected as Ivy Coaching Staff of the Year. Joined by Associate Head Coach Steve Totten and assistant coaches Sam Maira and Tom Moffat, the award marks the third time the group has won the honor after winning in 2018 and 2021.
The Tigers will begin postseason play tomorrow as they host the Ivy League Tournament as the no. 1 seed. They will face Harvard in the semifinals at 7:00 p.m. in Roberts Stadium.
