Men's Hockey Stops Stonehill, 3-2
November 15, 2025 | Men's Ice Hockey
A 3-2 Princeton win over Stonehill improved the Tigers to 3-2 overall this season as the Tigers claimed their third consecutive win at Hobey Baker Rink to open the 2025-26 campaign.
The three wins in a row on home ice to begin a season marks the first time since 1979-80 that Princeton is 3-0 at Baker Rink to begin a season.
Brendan Gorman had a two-point night, scoring a goal and adding an assist on the eventual game-winning goal.
Luc Pelletier had the game-winner, his first of the season.
Julian Facchinelli opened the scoring, netting his first collegiate goal.
Conor Callaghan made 27 saves in the win, recording his second career win and first since a 3-2 win over Brown on November 11, 2023 – a span of 735 days as he missed all of 2024-25 with injury.
Princeton's excitement was short-lived as Stonehill countered just 24 seconds later via an Anthony Galante goal from in tight to even the game at 1-1. The Skyhawks won a puck battle behind the Princeton net and Galante was left alone in front to sneak a shot over Callaghan's left shoulder and under the crossbar.
The hosts retook the lead 2:44 into the second period when Brendan Gorman stuffed home a wrap-around attempt after a Tyler Rubin shot from the point was denied and Malcolm Green got a stick on the rebound to knock it Gorman's way for a quick tuck.
The Skyhawks almost tied the game with under 0:15 to play, but a point-blank save from Callaghan on a Joel Lehtinen shot from the slot denied the comeback attempt and secured the win.
The Tigers return to ECAC play next weekend, hosting St. Lawrence (November 21) and Clarkson (November 22) for 7 p.m. puck drops at Baker Rink.
