Daniells Ties Program Record With 5 Goals In 7-4 Win Over St. Lawrence
November 21, 2025 | Men's Ice Hockey
It was the Kai Daniells show as the junior forward tied Princeton's school record with five goals in the game. He is the fourth player in program history to score five times in a single game and the first since John Cook did so against Northeastern on November 30, 1962.
His five goals are the most in a single game play a player in the NCAA this season and the most in a game since 2011.
Kai Greaves and Luc Pelletier each had two-assist nights to match their career highs. Pelletier was also 13-for-17 on faceoffs.A Dandy from Daniells!

Princeton was 6-for-8 on the penalty kill in the game, and were 1-for-2 on the power-plays afforded them.
The teams combined for 59 penalty minutes, with 49 of them coming in a second period that also saw a combined five goals scored.
The Tigers were on their heels a bit to start the game, taking two penalties within the first six minutes. The penalty kill was up to the task, allowing just one shot on goal during those two St. Lawrence man advantages.
After those kills, Princeton settled in and turned the pressure up themselves.
Eventually, a dogged Tiger forecheck forced a Saints turnover deep inside their own end and Princeton's leading scorer, Brendan Gorman, picked up the loose puck and fired it up high short side for a 1-0 Princeton lead with 4:17 to go in the opening period.
The second period had a bit of everything as the two teams combined for five goals and 49 penalty minutes in a period that likely exhausted everyone inside Baker Rink. At the end of that frame, the two teams were tied at 3-3 to set the stage for a frantic finish.Gorman Strikes First!

The Saints scored early in the middle frame, connecting just 0:13 in via a Tyler Cristall turnaround shot. It took the Saints 1:37 to then take the lead when Filip Juricek capitalized on a Princeton turnover to one-time a Cayden Casey pass for a 2-1 St. Lawrence lead.
Kai Daniells answered for Princeton 7:04 into the second period with a brilliant individual effort that include a spin move by a defenseman at the St. Lawrence blue line and a drive to the net finished off with a diving forehand stuff at the far post.
Cristall scored again for the Saints with 9:35 to play in the second, looping a power-play goal through traffic that eluded Callaghan to the far post for a 3-2 St. Lawrence lead.
The game turned with just over 3:00 to play in the second period when St. Lawrence's Gabe Westling was called for a five-minute major after a check to the head of Drew Garzone.
The Tigers tied the game off a power-play goal came from Daniells with 1.8 seconds to play in the second period when he fired a wrister from the top of the left circle that beat the Saints goalie blocker side.
Just as the penalty was expiring at in the opening two minutes of the third period, the Tigers took a 4-3 lead when Daniells flipped in a backhander 1:56 into the stanza.Fire Us Up, Kai Daniells!

That celebration was short-lived as St. Lawrence scored a power-play goal 0:41 later to tie the game at 4-4 when a Casey shot from the point was deflected twice, eventually tipping off the stick of Rasmus Svartstrom and under the crossbar.Hat Trick for Daniells!

Daniells netted his fourth goal of the game, the game-winner, with 3:10 to play when he got just enough of a skate on a Jake Manfre shot to deflect it under the glove of Kucenski and in.
Princeton would tack on a pair of empty-netters to provide insurance, the first a short-handed tally from Drew Garzone with 1:39 to play.Upon Further Review...
