Men's Hockey Completes Weekend Sweep With 4-3 Win Over Clarkson
November 22, 2025 | Men's Ice Hockey
Home is where the heart is, and it's where the wins are as Princeton's home winning streak has been extended to five after a 4-3 win over Clarkson to close out a weekend sweep and secure six important ECAC points for the Tigers.
The sweep of St. Lawrence and Clarkson is the second in a row for the Tigers who closed the 2024-25 regular season with a pair of wins in the North Country. It is the first sweep of the Saints and Golden Knights at Baker Rink by a Princeton team since the 2017-18 season and just the sixth all-time.
Julian Facchinelli, Kevin Anderson and Luc Pelletier had the other goals for the Tigers, while Jake Manfre, Brendan Gorman, David Jacobs, Jaxson Ezman and Brendan Wang each had assists.
The five-game winning streak on home ice is the longest since the Tigers won six in a row at Baker Rink from 11/8/08-1/3/09 en route to a NCAA Tournament appearance.
Princeton is now 5-0-0 overall at Baker Rink, one win away from matching its win total on home ice for all of last season.
The six points secured this weekend vaulted Princeton from 12th in the ECAC into a tie for 7th just two points out of third in an early-season bottleneck inside the league.
The streak was in jeopardy early as the Tigers trailed by two after one period following two Golden Knights goals in a span of 0:48 to take a 2-0 lead after the first period.
Owen Van Steensel opened the scoring with 7:35 to go in the first period, swatting in a power-play goal after the initial offering from Talon Sigurdson was denied.
Less than a minute later, Luke Pakulak drove to the net to funnel in a loose puck that was originally sailing wide but ricocheted off a Princeton defenseman's skate and into the crease area.
In the second period, Luc Pelletier got the Tigers on the board with a breakaway goal at the 11:39 mark of the middle frame. After his teammates picked him up by killing a tripping penalty he had taken, Pelletier broke free from the box and took a stretch pass from David Jacobs to sneak free and stuff a shot five-hole to cut the deficit in half.
The equalizer finally came 4:29 into the third when Daniells worked puck possession low in the Clarkson zone to allow his linemates to change. Kevin Anderson charged into the play and followed up a blocked first shot to roof the puck by Shane Soderwall for his first of the season.
Daniells would then add what proved to be the game-winning goal with 2:40 to play. Jake Manfre battled along the end boards and kicked a puck loose to Daniells who bided his time before patiently sending a wrister inside the post for his sixth goal of the weekend.
The Golden Knights closed to within one via a Remi Gelinas goal with 44.4 seconds to play, but one more Callaghan save and a Daniells face-off win with 1.6 seconds to go sealed the victory.
The Tigers head to Bowling Green for a pair of games over Thanksgiving Break on November 28-29.
