Women’s Hockey Completes Sweep Of Providence
November 15, 2025 | Women's Ice Hockey
PRINCETON, N.J.- The Princeton women's hockey team hosted the Providence Friars to round out the weekend series on Saturday afternoon.
Although the Friars scored first on a power play goal, the Tigers scored twice to take a 3-1 victory and sweep the weekend.
After Providence scored, Princeton responded less than two minutes later to knot the score at one apiece. The Tigers kept the pressure up in the offensive zone against the Friars. Riley Sorokan forced the puck towards the goal for Katherine Khramtsov, who shoveled the puck towards the net. Jane Kuehl got the rebound and forced it back to a wide open Catie Collins who sniped it past the Providence keeper for her first career goal.
The Tigers went on the power play in the second period and capitalized on it to take the lead for good. Megan Healy fired a shot in the box towards Angelina DiGirolamo at the crease. DiGirolamo took a shot and Kuehl cleaned up the puck to put Princeton up 2-1.
Providence pulled its goalie as time winded down and Princeton made them pay for it. The Tigers got the steal on defense and Issy Wunder chipped it up the ice towards the goal. Mackenzie Alexander finished it off with one second remaining in the game for her second empty net goal in as many games to secure the win.
Taylor Hyland made 32 saves in net for Princeton to help the squad move to 6-4 on the year and 5-1 at Baker Rink.
The Tigers will be back home on Thursday night to face the No. 7 Quinnipiac Bobcats at 6:00 PM.
