Highlight Reel Sequence From Alexander And Wunder Stuns No. 7 Quinnipiac In Overtime
November 20, 2025 | Women's Ice Hockey
PRINCETON, N.J.- The Tigers faced its third overtime contest on Thursday night at Baker Rink. In a 3-3 deadlock with the No. 7 Quinnipiac Bobcats, Princeton went to work.
Halfway through the extra period, Issy Wunder raced up the ice with the puck as she got knocked to the ground. The senior shoved the saucer pass across the ice to Mackenzie Alexander who fired it home for the overtime game winner.
The win bumped the Tigers to a 5-2 conference record to sit atop the ECAC with 14 points on the year.
The Bobcats scored quickly in the first period to go up a tally and went ahead by two on an outside shot in the second.
Princeton has learned how to battle back this season and did just that. Rosie Klein slapped a shot in on goal as it bounced off the pads of the Quinnipiac keeper. Brooklyn Nimegeers pushed in a shot that was stopped before Ani Kozak stuffed it home to get the Tigers on the board.
Looking to get things tied up, Princeton again pushed the pace. Maggie Johnson made the pass from the defensive zone up to Wunder. Wunder passed it back to Alexander who lasered it home to knot the game at two apiece.
The Tigers weren't done just yet. Ellie Dimatos and Teja Gatfield worked the puck at the top of the zone before Gatfield forced the puck on net and Hannah Fetterolf finished it off to give Princeton its first lead of the night.
The Bobcats were able to tie the game once again, but could not overcome the Tigers after forcing overtime.
Alexander had two points on two goals while Wunder got her two points on the assists.
Uma Corniea got the nod and made 28 saves in goal.
