December 16, 2025 | Men's Soccer
VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Daniel Ittycheria has signed a contract with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC II (WFC2) in MLS Next Pro, the club announced Tuesday. He is signed through 2026.
The contract comes after Ittycheria's illustrious career at Princeton, which saw him lead the Tigers in scoring for three consecutive seasons and be named the 2025 Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year.
In 2025, Ittycheria led the Tigers with nine goals, helping them to a standout season that saw Princeton win the Ivy League Championship and the Ivy League Tournament.
Setting a program record for most wins in a season, the Tigers went 15-2-2 and achieved the highest ranking in program history (No. 3) and the highest seed in the NCAA Tournament by an Ivy League team (No. 3).
Ittycheria, a unanimous 2025 First Team All-Ivy honoree, was an engine for the Tiger offense, scoring four game-winners and tallying three assists in addition to his nine goals.
In both 2024 and 2023, Ittycheria also had nine goals for a squad-high. In 2024, Ittycheria scored three goals in the Ivy League Tournament, leading Princeton to its first Ivy League Tournament Championship title. He was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
This season, Ittycheria again shined as he led Princeton to its second-consecutive Ivy League Tournament, scoring in the semifinal to send the Tigers on. Princeton became the first team to win both the Ivy League Championship and the Ivy League Tournament in the same season.
He ends his career with 64 appearances and 51 starts. His 28 career goals rank ninth in program history, with his 64 career points sitting 12th in the record book.
At the end of last season, Ittycheria was drafted by D.C. United in the Second Round as the 40th pick overall. This will be his first professional contract.
